Brett Eagle is a volunteer member of Marine Rescue NSW.  He serves at the Middle Harbour, Sydney, base as skipper of one of the rescue vessels.

 

Marine Rescue NSW is the state’s official volunteer marine rescue service, committed to saving lives on the water.  It has a network of 45 strategically-located units on the NSW coastline, Lord Howe Island and inland on the Alpine Lakes in the Snowy Mountains and the Murray River at Moama.  There are over 100 vessels including ocean-going vessels, vessels to serve shallower, inland waterways, as well as newly commissioned jet-ski vessels.  There are over 3,000 volunteers.

 

Marine Rescue Middle Harbour is a unit of Marine Rescue NSW based on the easter shores of The Spit.  The base has two rescue vessels in regular service, including a fast response 11.6m (38ft) Steber launch accredited for search and rescue service up to 30nm offshore.

 

With almost 100 members, Marine Rescue Middle Harbour has an extensive depth of experience and skill ready to serve the larger Sydney boating community with boating safety information and rapid response to Search and Rescue emergencies.  Marine Rescue Middle Harbour also provides courses for boating licences, marine radio and elementary navigation.
